ISLAMABAD: Captain (r) Safdar has on Tuesday once again urged all to respect the sanctity of the vote.
Talking to media after attending the corruption references at Judicial Complex, Safdar said that the victory of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidate in Lodhran by-election was due only to PML-N President Nawaz Sharif’s humility.
He urged all to respect the vote since it was the only forum able to decide the fate of governments in the country.
He once again lashed out at Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahir ul-Qadri, calling the religious cleric a ‘guest actor’ in Pakistani politics who occasionally came to Pakistan when in need of charity.
Earlier, the court hearing in NAB references against the Sharif family ended without any progress since the lawyers’ bodies had announced three-day mourning for human rights’ activist Asma Jahangir’s sad demise.
The court was adjourned till Thursday, February 15.
Nawaz Sharif also talked to media after the court hearing and stated that the cases against him were fake and only an attempt to victimise him in the name of accountability.
He also termed his party’s victory in Lodhran by-election as a response of the public to his victimisation.
